The Grande Chaumière is not closing down!!
The wildest rumours have been circulating about the future of the Atelier de la Grande Chaumière; it seemed necessary to us to make the following statement:

Following the death in 2017 of the previous owner of the premises located at number 14, rue de la Grande Chaumière, the premises were sold last October to a private individual.

These premises are home to two activities under one main company:

the Grand Atelier, with its life model drawing and painting workshops and classes;

The Académie Charpentier, our school of interior architecture, design, and art direction.

We have been the holder of a commercial lease since 1954, that has been systematically renewed since.

The current lease expires in July 2021, and will, as previously, be renewed.

The current owner, whom I met, will carry out important works, and we will proceed to some refurbishing work that the site requires.

We are therefore looking towards many more years to spend together!
